A look at this year’s recipient

Allymyr Atrero works in education consulting as a project manager for the Council for Adult and Experiential Learning (CAEL), a national, nonprofit membership organization working to improve education-to-career pathways for adult learners. Her organization partners with postsecondary institutions, workforce and economic development agencies, employers, foundations, and other mission-aligned organizations to provide expertise, resources, and innovative solutions that support sustainable and equitable economic growth. Prior to CAEL, Allymyr championed for multicultural and equity-based centers where she led diversity and inclusion education and policy work within universities. She has extensive experience designing curriculum highlighting power, privilege, and identity and overseeing large-scale professional development events such as conferences, workshops, and symposiums.

Beyond financial support, I’ve learned one of the best ways I can contribute to my community is to pay it forward with my time. I don’t do it for the recognition, but it was truly an honor to be presented the 2023 Asian Corporate & Entrepreneur Leaders – Member of the Year award at the annual gala amongst so many distinguished guests and leaders in the community.” stated Atrero.

Outside of work, Atrero actively engages and advances social justice through regularly presenting at conferences and volunteering with community organizations. Her conference presentations have been accepted at the National Conference on Race and Ethnicity in Higher Education, Asian Pacific Americans in Higher Education National Conference, National Association of Student Personnel Administrators Conference, and the University of Colorado, Boulder’s Womxn’s Leadership Symposium. She also currently serves as the mentorship chair for Asian Corporate & Entrepreneur Leaders (ACEL).
