Asian Corporate & Entrepreneur Leaders (ACEL) is excited to welcome Lloyd Y. Asato as a presenter at this year’s Dynamics of Leadership Conference this July, working with attendees on “Developing Your Personal Triple Bottom Line”.

Lloyd is the executive director for Asian Pacific Community in Action (APCA) a community health non-profit serving immigrant and refugee communities in Arizona. Lloyd previously served as the deputy director for the National Council of Asian Pacific Islander Physicians and senior policy analyst and community capacity program director for the Asian & Pacific Islander American Health Forum. Lloyd began his career in public health as director of the Hawai`i State Office of Rural Health and served as senior planner in the Office of Planning Policy, and Program Development, Hawai`i State Department of Health.

Lloyd brings a wealth of experience in advocacy, issue analysis, scenario planning, and capacity building to his work. Since, 2011, Lloyd has served as a healing practitioner for the W. K. Kellogg Foundation’s America Healing efforts and its upcoming Truth, Racial Healing & Transformation enterprise. Lloyd and his fellow healing practitioners work to raise awareness of unconscious biases and inequities to help communities heal and support and empower communities in their efforts to dismantle the structures that limit opportunities for vulnerable children.

Lloyd is an experienced mentor and coach. His early research was in youth development and he has presented several papers on youth mentoring and empowerment. He has run youth development organizations and evaluated statewide mentoring initiatives and since 1995 has mentored dozens of young people. In 2015 he has named the ACEL Mentor of the Year.

Too often young leaders focus on career or professional goals at the expense of other domains in their life. They lead successful careers yet find that they are not fulfilled. In order to remain competitive over the long-term, corporations focus not only on financial success, but social and environmental success as well. Are there lessons we can take from this strategy to develop our personal Triple Bottom Line? Corporations achieve sustainable success when they focus on people, the planet, AND profits. During this interactive session participants will identify key domains in their personal life that are important to them and develop a plan to create their own TBL.
