The Asian Corporate and Entrepreneur Leaders (ACEL) is pleased to announce that CEO of the Ballparks of America, Hamilton Chang will be speaking at 2019 ACEL Dynamics of Leadership Conference which is taking place from July 12-July 13, 2019 at the Scottsdale Marriott at McDowell Mountains in Scottsdale, Arizona.
He will be the keynote speaker at the ACEL Leadership Awards Gala on July 13 and will also share his expertise at the workshop entitled Rise of the Political Tigers on Friday afternoon.
This workshop will focus on building a sustainable pipeline of Asian Pacific American APA political leadership. Chang will discuss how to enter into politics and balance full-time work with part-time elected service. The center of discussion will be the feasibility and importance of APAs serving in all levels of government and how audience participants could themselves manage running for and to serve in elected office. Building a sustainable pipeline of APA political leadership requires not only supporting APA candidates but also finding the courage and commitment to balancing professional and civic life.
With 25 years experience, Chang has led groups specializing in risk management for Fortune 100 companies, investment banking for not-for-profit/municipal entities, structured/derivative products, and tax-exempt bond trading for clients across the globe.
Chang is a government official serving as Trustee of New Trier Township, one Illinois premier communities and sits on various boards across the Midwest including the University of Michigan Health System Advisory Group, The Music Institute of Chicago Board of Directors, and is Vice Chair of U.S. Senator Mark Kirk’s Asian American Advisory Committee. Hamilton is also a member of the Advisory Board of award-winning Mandarin Communications Group and Executive Editor of Mandarin Leader.
In 2010 he was recognized by the Association of Chinese-American Scientists and Engineers for “Supporting Chinese American Professional Communities, Promoting Diversity, and Encouraging Asian American Leadership Development.”
In 2013 he was recognized by The Chinese American Association of Greater Chicago with the “Community Contribution Excellence Award”. At the State level, Hamilton is Commissioner of State of Illinois Human Rights Commission.
