Gerald has a passion for writing and telling stories. He is a marketing communications manager for Blue Cross Blue Shield of Arizona. He manages and implements communication plans and oversees strategic and tactical execution to its more than 1.2 million members.

Furthermore, Gerald is a contributing video journalist for the Philippine’s largest news outlet ABS-CBN. His new stories can be seen on Balitang America, which airs on The Filipino Channel. He has also taught as an associate communications professor at University of Advancing Technology. His volunteer work includes being appointed by then Phoenix Mayor, Greg Stanton, to serve as a board member for the Advancing Youth Workforce Committee.

He’s proud to have founded the first LGBT alumni association group in Arizona history, Devils’ Pride at his alma mater, Arizona State University. Gerald also dedicates his time as a board member to the Miss Phoenix, Miss Scottsdale and Miss Maricopa County Scholarship Pageant among other boards and planning committees for local nonprofits and charities. He graduated with a 4.0 GPA from Northern Arizona University to earn his M.Ed., and he obtained his undergraduate degree in journalism and mass communication from ASU’s Walter Cronkite School on a full-tuition scholarship.
