For every successful story, there is a great challenge behind it. Mai Le is the founder of Viet Lifestyles Magazine and is the publisher/editor in chief of a full colored, bi-lingual Vietnamese English magazine, featuring all aspects of  Vietnamese daily life. Its mission is to preserve and promote the beauty of the traditional Vietnamese culture while embracing the modern western culture. Based in Phoenix, Viet Lifestyles has been circulated monthly across Arizona, California, Georgia, Florida, Texas and Hawaii.

Le will participate in a panel during this summer’s Dynamics of Leadership Conference, covering the topics “Current Issues Facing Asian Americans: Is the Model Minority a Myth or Reality?”

Coming to America as a teenager in 1992, Le overcame many challenges including language and cultural barriers to be among the top students receiving full scholarships from Arizona State University. After graduating from college, magna cum laude in 1998, she co-founded Que Huong Radio program, a non-profit organization, broadcasting in Vietnamese on a fresh air radio station a few hours each Sunday. In 2006, she joined TNT Radio Network and transitioned from a limited fresh air program to a 24-hour daily Vietnamese radio station on KTAR 92.3 FM SCA known as TNT AZ Radio today. Le was nominated and received the Entrepreneur Award from the Arizona Asian American Association in 2007.

In 1998, Le co-founded Miss Vietnam Arizona, also known as Miss Ao-Dai Arizona and became the executive director/producer of this bi-annual cultural pageant. Since the beginning, Miss Ao-Dai Arizona has received support and encouragements from the Vietnamese American community in Arizona.
