Asian Corporate & Entrepreneur Leaders (ACEL) is happy to announce Steve Erickson as one of the co-hosts of the ACELebration of Leadership Gala on Saturday, January 29th, 2022. He will help lead the night’s program along with L&D leader, Elizabeth Greene.
Steve Erickson joined the Teach For America (TFA) corps in 2005. His time teaching 4th and 7th grade students in west Phoenix was a transformational experience that laid the foundation for his next decade-plus in education and with TFA. Convinced of the great value of bringing more individuals to the teaching profession, Steve joined TFA’s national recruitment team where he was responsible for doubling the number of candidates joining TFA from the University of Arizona and Arizona State University. In 2009, Steve joined TFA’s Phoenix regional staff where he has played various roles and led multiple functions, including fundraising, public & government affairs, partnerships, and alumni strategy. His time working with students, families, educators, and community partners has deepened his conviction that providing equitable access to an excellent education is essential in creating and sustaining thriving communities. Now serving as Executive Director, Steve feels especially privileged to link arms with others in his home state of Arizona and is convinced that deep, meaningful partnerships will be what drives Teach For America’s next chapter as the organization looks to hold itself more accountable to the communities it serves.
The son and grandson of Chinese immigrants who risked it all to bring, raise, and educate their children here in the U.S., Steve has benefited from and deeply believes the opportunity to pursue an excellent education changes the trajectory of entire families.
